It is a time to reflect on our loved ones who are no longer with us, to feast and celebrate with our friends and family, and to look towards the future and the hope of a season full of bounty.

’I just don’t know what to post.’ If you’ve thought or said this then believe me when I say you are not alone. Almost all of my clients have said this at some stage. And it’s usually lead to one of two things: posting something completely random or simply posting nothing at all. Neither of these options make for a good social media strategy. If we take it back to the why, your why, then you will have posts a plenty and you’ll know not only ‘what’ to post but ‘why’ you are posting it!

All business owners will agree that having a website is essential these days (if you don’t agree then we really ought to talk); it’s part of the foundation of any marketing plan whether you run a business or a not-for-profit. If you have a message to get out there then chances are you’ll need a website to help you do that. My clients will often say ‘yeah we have a website’. But simply ‘having’ a website is not enough.

Most of my clients have some genuinely awesome content to share and they totally get why they should blog about it (‘why you should blog’ is a whole other topic and one that I’ll write about another day) but most of them have a block when it comes down to actually doing it. When I dig a bit deeper with them on why they haven’t blogged yet I usually get one of two answers - ‘I am not a good writer’ or ‘I don’t know where to start’.
