DRIVE Their Future: Help Our Young Drivers Gear up to get behind the Wheel
Join Korio and other local business - Sponsor a student spot and help make our roads safer for everyone.
One of our clients here at Korio is the not-for-profit organisation Street Smart who run hands-on, practical young driver training at various Motorsports Parks around the motu, including here in Taupō. Street Smart is an organisation close to our hearts - we are passionate about keeping our young people safe on the roads.
You might be curious as to what Street Smart actually is, and how it works. In a nutshell, Street Smart driven by Tony Quinn Foundation Road Safety, is a driver’s education programme designed to help young Kiwis stay safe on the road. The programme involves young drivers attend a hands-on, practical training day at a local-to-them Motorsports Park which takes them through seven activities, with each using hands-on techniques to fine-tune their knowledge.
We have been working with Street Smart to identify ways communities can get behind the initiative - after all, we know we are not the only ones who care deeply about the safety of our young people (on and off the roads), and who would like to be part of the solution.
By giving our young people the practical tools they need to be better and safer drivers we can make a real difference.
We want to give 20 Taupō students the chance to attend.
The next Street Smart delivery days here in Taupō are coming up in September, and we’ve set ourselves a community goal: sponsor twenty places for students from Taupō-nui-a-Tia College and Tauhara College. Each spot costs $149—an investment that could one day save a life.
We’re inviting local businesses to get behind this. Whether you fund one student or several, you’ll be directly helping young drivers in our community become safer, more confident, and more prepared.
How to get involved.
It’s pretty simple really - send us an email (megan@korio.co.nz) or click on the button below and let us know the number of spots you’d like to cover, and we’ll take care of the rest.
This is about more than sponsorship. It’s about looking out for each other on the road, building skills for life, and showing our young people that Taupō backs them.
