Christmas email marketing ideas

Email marketing: when you see a stat like this - “On average, email drives an ROI of $36 for every dollar spent, higher than any other channel (Litmus)” - you can’t deny email marketing needs to be part of your marketing strategy. And since its the holiday season, I’ve put together some Christmas email marketing ideas.

It’s not only an opportunity for a connection touchpoint with a ‘best wishes for the holidays’ personal message but a chance to build your story, add value and increase sales.

Give your customers a little personal insight:
Share a little story about how your family celebrate, share your Christmas playlist, share pics of your team with a note of their favourite Christmas song or movie

Do some of the admin heavy-lifting for your customers:
Let them know about cut-off dates for shipping or special Christmas hours, make suggestions for hard to buy for friends and family or last-minute gifts, share staff picks or best sellers to inspire gift ideas. And if your shipping deadline email didn’t do the trick, sending an “it’s not too late” email might be what your customers need to push them across the line.

Add value - a little some special that is on theme:
Offer free shipping, create an offer especially for loyal customers, use a lead magnet like ‘Christmas Wish List for Kids’ or a link to a special Canva holiday card template that customers can personalise

Tell your giving back story:
If you and your team are doing something special to give back this Christmas share the story - maybe you are supporting a local charity by collecting food or gifts for families in need, maybe your team is cooking at a community Christmas lunch - if you are make sure you include this story to inspire others to help or join.

What’s one of the most common presents people will gift each other at Christmas?  Gift cards.
Not only do gift cards make a great option when you have no idea what to buy someone, but they also make a great last-minute gift idea because they can be downloaded at the time of purchase. Include a clever graphic and link to your gift cards on your website to make it super easy for your customers.

And here are some Christmas Email Subject Line suggestions (cause most of my clients get a mental block and say they aren’t creative when it comes to subject lines…)

Kim Manunui

Hi, I’m Kim and I work with a great team to help individuals, as well as small and not so small businesses get their message, product and services to the world using digital media and creating wonderful websites that don’t cost the earth.

I was born in Canada, and grew up around Vancouver and the mountains of British Columbia. My love of pristine environments led me to New Zealand and eventually to the mountains, lakes and rivers of the central North Island which is home. My family’s heritage is here, and it’s from here that Korio traverses the planet.

The digital world is never static and neither are we.

And I say ‘we’ because I work with an awesome group of talented people who I gather together as required to complete a project.  Whatever your business, not-for-profit or individual needs are we gather the best team to get the job done.

Collaboratively we are creative, share sustainable values and work hard for great outcomes because that’s the buzz of satisfaction that drives us.

If you have an audience and market to reach, we can make that happen. Creative design, words that work and smart behind the scenes stuff that cuts through the online noise. We’ll design your website and then build it. We’ll manage the content as well as all your hosting needs. We can handle your online advertising so you get noticed,
and we’ll manage your social media presence so you get the clicks, likes and engagement to grow your business. All within the budget you set, because none of this needs to cost the earth.  And the job doesn’t stop when your website goes live. We are your virtual business partner.
